Measuring Principle

The VEGADIF 85 has two pressure inputs, commonly referred to as High Pressure (H) and Low Pressure (L). The difference between these two pressures is measured by the internal measuring cell.

Differential Pressure = High Pressure – Low Pressure

The resulting differential pressure is converted into an electronic output signal such as 4–20 mA/HART for connection to a PLC, DCS, control system, or flow computer.

One important advantage is its integrated overload diaphragm, which improves reliability when the transmitter experiences excessive pressure on one side. The sensor can also provide an integrated absolute-pressure measurement, making it a multivariable instrument for certain applications.

Materials

For demanding process conditions, the wetted components can be configured with materials including 316L stainless steel, Alloy C276, gold, and Superduplex. Chemical seals are also available for applications requiring separation between the measuring cell and process medium
