The CMFHC2M operates using the Coriolis effect.

The basic measurement process is:

Process Fluid → Vibrating Flow Tubes → Coriolis Effect → Sensor Detection → Digital Signal Processing → Flow/Density/Temperature Output

When the process fluid passes through the vibrating measuring tubes, the fluid causes a measurable phase shift in the tube vibration. The sensor detects this change and calculates the mass flow rate.

The meter can simultaneously determine density and temperature, providing multiple process variables from a single instrument.
