The flowmeter operates based on the variable area principle, in which a float moves inside a tapered measuring tube according to the flow rate. The float position is mechanically transmitted to a local indicator for direct flow reading.

The integrated needle valve (metering valve) allows precise adjustment and control of the flow rate. The instrument does not require auxiliary power for basic mechanical flow indication. KROHNE’s DK32/34 series is available in robust metal construction, including stainless steel or alloy versions, and is suitable for applications such as gas analyser systems, purge panels, process gases, liquids, and flow monitoring.
