Working Principle

During normal operation, the FIKE AD-V rupture disc remains intact and acts as part of the pressure boundary. When system pressure reaches the specified burst pressure, the disc ruptures and creates an opening through which the process medium can escape.

This rapid pressure release helps prevent excessive pressure from damaging equipment such as pressure vessels, pipelines, reactors, compressors, and other process systems.

Unlike a safety relief valve, a rupture disc does not reseat after bursting. Once activated, the disc must be replaced.
