The instrument utilizes the Model 224 Differential Pressure Unit (DPU) as its sensing element, which accurately measures the pressure difference between two process connections while isolating the indicating mechanism from the process media. This design provides stable performance, excellent repeatability, and long service life even in demanding industrial environments.
The 288A features a 6-inch (150 mm) analog dial with a high-visibility pointer for easy local reading. The gauge measures differential pressure over a 0–15 PSI range and offers an indication accuracy of ±1% of full scale with a repeatability of ±0.25% of full scale, ensuring reliable monitoring of pressure variations.
An integral Mechanical Snap-Acting SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch provides dependable switching action at user-adjustable set points. The switch changes state instantly when the preset differential pressure is reached, minimizing contact chatter and ensuring reliable operation for alarms, pump protection, filter monitoring, or automatic process control. The switch deadband is approximately ±5% of full scale, preventing nuisance switching caused by minor pressure fluctuations.
