Operating Principle
The VEGAPULS C 21 transmits high-frequency radar signals toward the surface of the measured medium. The radar signal is reflected from the surface and received by the sensor. The electronics then calculate the distance between the sensor and the material surface and convert this measurement into the corresponding level value.
Because the measurement is non-contact, the sensor does not require a probe or mechanical sensing element to be immersed in the process. This minimizes mechanical wear, contamination, and maintenance requirements.
