The valve uses a fixed-ball (trunnion-mounted) design, in which the ball is supported by a fixed shaft or trunnion. This construction helps reduce operating torque and maintain stable sealing performance, particularly in large-diameter applications from 2 to 20 inches.

When combined with AT Series or AW Series pneumatic actuators, the valve provides fast response, reliable automated operation, and efficient process isolation for industrial applications.

The valve is suitable for various media, including liquids, gases, and corrosive fluids, depending on the selected body, ball, stem, and seat materials.

Operating Principle

The operating sequence is:

Pneumatic Air Supply → Pneumatic Actuator → Valve Stem → Fixed Ball Rotation → Open / Closed Position

When compressed air is supplied to the pneumatic actuator, the actuator generates torque that rotates the valve stem and ball through approximately 90°.

  • Valve Open: The ball bore aligns with the pipeline, allowing the process medium to flow.
  • Valve Closed: The ball rotates perpendicular to the flow path, isolating the pipeline and providing shut-off.

The fixed-ball design helps maintain stable ball positioning and reduces the torque required to operate the valve, particularly in larger sizes and higher-pressure applications.
