The valve remains closed when de-energized and opens automatically when the solenoid coil is energized. When electrical power is removed, the valve immediately closes, ensuring rapid interruption of the gas supply for maximum safety. It is commonly controlled by pressure switches, thermostats, gas leak detectors, flame safeguard controllers, and burner management systems (BMS).

The EVOF/NC version incorporates an integrated flow adjustment mechanism, allowing the gas flow rate to be manually regulated without requiring an external valve.
